About Cultivated Biosciences

We're building a world in which animal-free dairy is the better choice for everyone.

​Our mission is to empower plant-based dairy to give it the creaminess and mouthfeel consumers strive for.

To do this we are developing creamy functional ingredients from non-GMO yeast to be sold as B2B ingredients. We have just raised our seed round and are transitioning from the lab to the market. 

Your Mission

As a Food processing Intern, you will play a crucial role in our team, contributing to the scale-up of our innovative food products. Your primary responsibility will be to support and improve our pilot plant operations ad well as improve the production of our product, working closely with our experienced scientists and engineers - this to ensure we extract a delicious, innovative ingredient in a scaleable way.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Food Processing, Process Engineering, or a related field OR

  • Apprenticeship/a few years of practical experience in food processing industry

  • Experience working with pilot equipment in liquid food processing (For instance mixing tanks, centrifuges, filters, etc) and laboratory equipment

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to learn new techniques quickly

  • Strong practical skills and a hands-on approach

Your Responsibilities

  • Shared responsibility for the downstream process up to the finished product (including methods of lysis, separation and extraction), while collaborating with the other departments

  • Purchase, setup, operating, maintenance and monitoring of various equipment along the pilot line

  • Timely execution of production orders for clients while adhering to quality regulations.

  • Actively contributing and implementing ideas to optimize the production process and the implementation of innovations

  • Conducting, documenting, and developing quality controls on the product

  • Carrying out experiments to improve the quality and yield of our product

  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving processing issues to improve methods and product production

You are a great candidate for this position if you

  • Are enthusiastic about working and learning in a high-growth research, start-up environment focused on novel food

  • Have a feeling on how things work in a production facility

  • Can manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic setting

  • Are proactive in identifying problems and finding creative solutions

  • Work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Possess good English language skills. Knowledge of German is an advantage
